Seasons
Spring, summer, autumn and winter change weather, growth and wildlife.
The season follows from the game day (default: 7 days per season, adjustable). Transitions are smooth.
| Spring | Summer | Autumn | Winter | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Temperature offset | −1 °C | +6 °C | −2 °C | −12 °C |
| Daylight | 12 h | 16 h | 12 h | 8 h |
| Plant growth | 130% | 100% | 55% | 10% |
| Weather | rain and storms | mostly clear, storms | fog and rain | snow instead of rain |
What changes
- Winter: precipitation falls as snow, lakes freeze (mind the ice thickness!), snow stays on the ground and shows tracks – yours and the machines'. Bears hibernate, predators are hungrier and bolder.
- Spring: the thaw makes the ground wet – mud even without rain.
- Autumn: leaves change colour, fog and rain become more common – good for sneaking.
- Summer: long days, short nights, best growth in the garden.
- Fewer animals are out and about in winter (about half as many).
